How Manitoba Is Helping

To offer assistance to Ukrainian refugees arriving in Manitoba, the government of Manitoba has established a centralized Reception Centre and Settlement Services Hub in Winnipeg.

The available services include an initial assessment to determine individual and family needs, temporary lodging and meals for up to 30 days for those who do not have pre-arranged accommodations, access to coordinated healthcare services, and registration and referral services that promote awareness of settlement support programs connecting individuals with language training, workforce opportunities, and long-term settlement needs, such as housing search.

However, individuals must vacate their temporary lodgings after securing permanent housing to create space for new arrivals. It’s important to note that minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian when accessing the Reception Centre or requiring temporary accommodations. Appointments are necessary to access these services. F

or further information on the Reception Center and Settlement Services, such as the hours of operation, schedule of services, and booking appointments, please contact 2-1-1. If outside Manitoba or Canada, dial 1-855-275-1197.
