If you’re a Ukrainian national seeking to apply for the Foil-Less Visa Process, also known as CUAET (Canadian-Ukraine Administrative Express Temporary), you’re in the right place. This streamlined process is designed to simplify visa applications for eligible Ukrainian applicants. Here’s how you can request it.
If you’ve arrived in Canada on a foil-less visa or a single-entry visa and it’s about to expire, you might be wondering what your next steps should be.
In Canada, you’ll be staying under one of the following documents: a work permit, study permit, or visitor record, depending on your situation. However, in order to travel and return to Canada, you’ll need a visitor visa. Without it, re-entry won’t be possible.
To apply for a visitor visa from within Canada, you’ll need to follow a few steps. Keep in mind that this process is different from applying through CUAET.
Step 1: Register a New Profile
First, you’ll need to register a new profile.
Step 2: Set Up Your GCKey
Choose the GCKey option on the left, register your profile, and create a login and password.
Step 3: Complete the Application
After creating your profile, go to the “Apply to come to Canada” section and answer the questionnaire. This will generate a list of required documents, along with the application form that needs to be filled out.
Step 4: Fill Out the Application Form
To obtain a new visitor visa, you’ll need to fill out the imm5708e form and imm5257b_1 form. Please note that you can only open and complete these forms in Adobe Acrobat Professional version 8.0 or higher. The forms can be opened only after saving them to your computer. They won’t open in a browser. The forms can be electronically signed, so there’s no need to print and scan them.
Important Note:
If the profile provides you with a different form, it means you answered a question incorrectly.
Step 5: Add Documents to Your Profile
Include the following documents in your profile:
- A scanned copy of your passport (all filled pages).
- A scanned copy of your Work Permit.
- Proof of your medical examination.
- To be eligible for free document submission, attach a letter of explanation stating that you are exempt from processing fees based on the conditions of CUAET document submission for Ukrainians. Write the letter in either English or French, include your details (UCI, Application number), sign the letter, and scan it.
- A photograph as per the requirements for a visitor visa.
- Documents verifying your financial capability (employment letter, bank statements, salary details/pay stubs).
Step 6: Wait for a Decision in Your Visa Profile
Step 7: Send Your Passport for Visa Stamping
Instructions for this step will be provided along with the decision.
Duration and Processing Time:
- The duration of the visitor visa will be determined by the immigration services.
- Processing time for a visitor visa application submitted from within Canada is approximately two weeks, but this may vary on an individual basis.
- Visa stamping in your passport typically takes two weeks.
